Second Annual Sogn Series Artist Labels Contest

Regional artists are asked to create their interpretation of our vineyard, winery, or award-winning wines. 

Winning images will be featured on the 2011 Sogn Blanc and Sogn Blush wine labels.

Anyone wishing to participate is encouraged to visit the vineyard for inspiration during picnic hours by contacting Kelly at 651-792-5044 or kelly@cannonriverwinery.com to schedule an appointment.

Artwork will be accepted through October 29, 2011.

(Pleae provide an easel for your artwork to be displayed on and label it with your name and phone number.)

All art will be displayed at the winery for voting from November 1^st through December 4^th, 2011, with winners being announced in mid-December.

Artists will be invited to participate in the Sogn Series Art Show in February, 2012.

Cannon River Winery Unveils First Annual Sogn Series Artist Labels

Local artists’ work appears on new wine labels; 2011 call for artists begins

Cannon Falls, Minn. (May 2011) – Cannon River Winery, a premier Minnesota wine producer, unveils the first ever Sogn Series Artist Labels. The new wine labels, created by local artists, will be featured on the 2010 vintage Sogn Blanc and Sogn Blush wines. Cannon Falls resident, Jill Ballard’s impressionist-style painting graces the Sogn Blanc label. Cannon Falls native and Zumbrota-Mazeppa Schools art teacher, Becky Jokela’s vineyard scene painting is featured on Sogn Blush bottles.

Both artists will attend the series release party, June 11^th at the winery, assisting in bottling the new wines and autographing labels.

2010 was the first annual Sogn Series Artist Labels competition. Local artists were asked to create their interpretation of Cannon River’s picturesque vineyard. Dozens of entries were received and displayed at the winery. Visitors to the winery were asked to vote for their favorite, and the top two art pieces were chosen as the new labels.
